Literacy Night In Our Classroom

My students need 31 book titles, including small collections by popular authors, such as Eric Carle, Robert Munsch and Laura Numeroff.

This project is fully funded

My inner city 2nd grade students will be working on thematic units where they will read many different books written by the same author and compare and contrast the differences in each book.

An obstacle that my students are facing is our school library does not have these books that are needed for their reading project. Sadly, many of them do not have access to their public library system. Which means, we do not have the appropriate books.

With these 30 resource books- including many books by child favorite Eric Carle- my students will be able to participate in literacy night at our elementary school. My students will be presenting their findings of the differences from these authors and their books during our literacy night for parents and other teachers.

You will help make my students' dreams come true by empowering their reading and giving them confidence in their reading and research skills.
