Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Technology...I remember when a tape player was technology! Now students need to be prepared for life in the 21st century and that means they need to be computer literate.
I have 18 students in my class, many of whom qualify for free or reduced price lunch.
We are part of a Title 1 school in an urban area. This is my students first experience with formal education and many of them are just learning to speak English.
My students love the computer but we don't have enough space or computers for them all to use them. They are all so eager to learn and with these Chromebooks we can have class anywhere!
My Project
These Chromebooks will not only expose my students to new ways of learning, but it will challenge them to learn more. Computers and being computer literate are so important to their future success and with these Chromebooks they will be able to learn in the same way that children in other areas are learning. They will be able to explore various events and locations on the web, and they will be able to take the learning with them to increase their understanding of new topics and new lessons. With these Chromebooks we will be able to have class outside when we are planting seeds and actually put the seeds in the ground and investigate how they will grow while we are still outside! The possibilities are endless!
With your support you will allow development of so many needed skills to begin with the students first exposure to school!
This will set the pace for what is expected for the rest of their educational experiences, and help develop productive, well educated, members of society. With your help you will open up new worlds and ways of learning and assist in expanding my students horizons! This will help with all subjects including the arts and be an asset to the class.
