My Students
The students in my classroom come from all backgrounds and learning abilities. My students are a mix of students that learn in a neuro-typical way and students with higher needs including physical disabilities and children with autism. My students are all very busy and love to learn through traditional methods but also learn through sensory experiences. Our classroom is very hands-on, and I love to give my students the opportunity to learn in the way they prefer and what engages them with each activity introduced.
Each day my students come to school enthusiastic and ready to learn and grow together.
The main focus in the classroom is relationship building and creating a supportive community for all children and their families. My classroom is the foundation and usually, the first experience children have in school so we create a safe and supportive environment that is fun and full of learning.
My Project
The literacy center is our classroom is one of my students' favorite centers. In this center, they about letters and writing skills through play. They explore what letters are in their name and that words have meaning. Currently, our literacy center needs more engaging and fun activities.
These literacy activities will help engage my students at a center that is so important for their development.
The story boards will help them to learn about stories and their structure including characters and setting. The magnet letters will help them learn to recognize numbers. All of the materials also will help with fine motor development.
