This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

UFLI Foundations is the perfect balance between structure and responsiveness to students’ needs. This book provides multiple opportunities for students to practice, along with built-in gradual release.

This manual provides teachers with detailed lesson plans, a PowerPoint slide deck to accompany each lesson, and downloadable materials for homework or center activities. 

Foundations is an explicit and systematic phonics program that introduces students to the foundational reading skills necessary for proficient reading. Foundations follows a carefully developed scope and sequence designed to ensure that students systematically acquire each skill needed and learn to apply each skill with automaticity and confidence.

Finally, the laminated letter vests serve as an interactive and engaging way to get students to spell the words just learned, making learning fun and rememberable.
