My students need STEM books that will help them unleash the engineer within. Additionally, we need a storage bench to help us keep our books safe and organized.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day, regardless of the challenges in their lives, my students work relentlessly hard to grow academically, social-emotionally, and become justice-oriented individuals. My students use their knowledge and skills to eliminate the various systems of oppression that keep them and their families from achieving their full potential.
My class is a group of passionate, funny, freedom-fighting and inquisitive kids who want to use their education to improve their lives and community.
Our students' daily lives are full of adversity. At our school, one hundred percent of students qualify and receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students face many challenges at home; however, this does not get in the way of their success. Instead, they remain perseverant and continue to strive for and achieve excellence.
My Project
"When you have mastered numbers, you will in fact no longer be reading numbers, any more than you read words when reading books. You will be reading meanings." - W. E. B. Du Bois
Together, we can help the students of today become the great engineers of tomorrow that our country so desperately needs.
I want to help my students master the language of engineering. Having access to STEM books on several topics and reading levels will not only ignite my students' passion for learning but will also equip them with the knowledge and language that will set them up for success when they begin a career as a scientist, mathematician, or engineer.
Moreover, we need a book bench that will help us keep our books safe and organized. Classrooms can be crowded spaces; thus, we need a bookcase that can store our books while simultaneously providing us with space we need to sit down and read.
