Literacy Groups and Book Bags

Help me give my students the needed books for their literacy groups and their individual books bags for independent reading time.

My Students

Our school has some pretty awesome students. Although we may live in a high poverty area, they are eager to learn and obtain new knowledge. They are always excited to grow and continue to excel at something they love and enjoy!

There are a total of 8 students in second grade that are eager to learn and excel in their academic career as well as their sports career.

They truly show grit when working to further their education to succeed. We truly appreciate all the donations towards the success of our students in every part of their academic and sport careers.

My Project

My second graders are not on the reading level that second graders need to be on, so during Literacy time, my second grade students get guided reading every day. While I works with leveled groups the other students independently read to self from their individual book bags. The leveled books will help to give the students a good variety to choose from. The vast variety of books will also help me pick decoding and reading strategies to reinforce their reading skills. The books will help with skills like story structure, cause and effect, authors purpose, visualizing, making connections, and asking questions to name a few..
