This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Kindergarten is such a fun grade to teach because I get to teach them so many foundational skills. One of my favorite parts about teaching literacy is seeing the students put together the sounds of the letters and they can read and write basic words. I would love to build my literacy centers and add more hands on games for them.

Learning the foundations in literacy is so important in kindergarten and giving them the tools to support that growth is key.

I know that my students will be using these tools for many years to come. I cannot wait to introduce the file folders and the games as an independent group time. I am always looking for things they can do independently and I love making learning fun. They appreciate fun and exciting hands on learning. I know this will teach them independence and also give my students the tools to help them become better readers.
