Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students are beginning their first year of school. Students are in an economically disadvantaged area, and have very limited access to educational materials.
Students at this age are learning through exploration and opportunities for experiences.
This group of students are representative of the many ethnic groups that are encompassing our world's melting pot.
Students are being taught in the areas of science, technology, math and reading.
As this next generation comes up, we want them to be highly skilled.
This group is very eager to learn through exploration, and experiences and they are looking forward to a year full of growth and success. Any support that you can lend would be greatly appreciated.
My Project
Students will have a hands on approach to literacy, through being able to see hear and manipulate letters, sounds, pictures and objects. Students will be able to begin creating words and recognizing words.
Developing a love for reading is the goal for our students.
Students will have multiple opportunities to engage in learning through play, small group instruction and whole group instruction. These skills will help students to become stronger readers and thinkers. Students will develop lifelong skills that will help them advance in their academics. Students will begin to develop their own stories and a deeper understanding of literacy and all it entails.
