Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will help students connect literature to class projects and learning. In the fall students will learn about apples and pumpkins. We have an apple tasting, and students display decorated pumpkins in the school's library.
Having more books in the classroom to read will create a rich learning environment for kindergarteners.
Building the library by theme will increase students' interest in topics that we learn about throughout the year.
My students love time to read in the classroom. Books with beautiful illustrations and characters help students get excited to learn to read. When students open a book and then points out something they see that they have learned, they are so excited and proud. I want to provide more opportunities for those text connections to happen!
