Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are energetic learners that face many challenges when it comes to learning in the classroom. My class has a wide range of abilities and the students need activities targeted to each student's level.
My students are from a high-poverty area and are primarily bilingual or English Language Learners.
These amazing kids and their families understand the value of learning. They are deserving of so much more than their economic status currently allows. With your help we can make their futures brighter.
My Project
I know my students need more resources for learning than my school is able to provide. These literacy center games and resources will allow me to teach my students the skills they need while engaging them in learning something new.
They love playing games and working in teams to reinforce their language learning.
Students who have trouble with the language often quickly give up or feel nervous to participate. Having activities on their level that also provide them with a different experience will help to keep them speaking and working hard on their language learning, while providing them with new opportunities to apply their learning.
