Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are always happy to celebrate their culture and family traditions in the classroom. During this week, we would love to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and literacy with necklaces, Cinco de Mayo crafts, and snacks! We will enjoy all of the Cinco de Mayo treats as we read books about fun Hispanic characters.

A literacy-based fiesta room transformation would enhance our reading lesson and engage my students in learning.

Teaching students about different cultures can help them feel more comfortable, safe, and accepting of differences. Helping my students learn about different cultures would allow them to interact with different groups of people and feel more confident in themselves as well as in their interactions with others. No fiesta is complete without chips and salsa. I would love for my students to be able to eat Tostitos Rounds, salsa, and nacho cheese during our fiesta. Thank you for considering donating to our project.
