Literacy Enriched Classroom

My students need a variety of high interest fiction and non-fiction books to improve reading fluency and comprehension.

My Students

Now is the time that will impact a students judgment on whether or not they will enjoy reading for the rest of their lives. I hope to spark that interest and widen their imagination so that they will choose a literature filled life.

Our school is a very low income school with at least 80% of students receiving free or reduced lunch.

Most of our kids cannot afford books of their own and do not have any to read at home. During the school day is the only time they are experienced to literature. They work so very hard for their education and believe in themselves. They just need others to believe in them as well.

My Project

Throughout the school day our students will be able to pick up one of the many books that will be provided by this project. They can use these books as research for projects, AR, or simply just for fun! These books will provide our students with lots of resources and rich literature.

My project will make a difference because it will be reaching many different children.

Each year, new students will be able to enjoy these new books that will be added to our class library. These books will expose our kids to new vocabulary and improve their reading fluency.
