Literacy Development Books

Help me give my students a collection of literacy development books. Major themes in this collection: parts of speech, writing conventions, poems, wordless books. These books will support students' cognitive skills and foster love of reading.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Yen's classroom raised $277

My Project

I wish to provide students ample of resources and opportunities to learn from books and to foster love of reading by sharing engaging and meaningful books.

Major Themes in this Collection and Rationale:

Books on Writing Conventions:

These resources teach essential writing rules, such as grammar and punctuation, which enhance clarity and coherence. Mastering these conventions builds student confidence and improves the quality of their writing.

Books on Parts of Speech:

Understanding parts of speech helps students recognize language's building blocks, improving sentence construction and vocabulary usage. This knowledge encourages more complex and varied writing, enhancing communication skills.

Poetry Books:

Poetry exposes students to diverse expression, rhythm, and imagery, fostering creativity and emotional intelligence. Analyzing poems encourages appreciation for language nuances and inspires students to experiment in their own writing.

Wordless Books:

Wordless books stimulate imagination by allowing children to create their own narratives from illustrations. This practice enhances critical thinking and visual literacy while promoting vocabulary development and a love for reading.
