Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a vibrant group of 4th graders at a Title I school. My students come from diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. About 65% of my students are Latino/Chicano, 25% African-American, 5% Asian, and 5% Caucasian/Other. About 60% of my students are English Language Learners.

I strive to see my students grow as thinkers, kind human beings, and life-long learners.

My students enjoy solving math riddles, writing personal narratives, and checking out "Dogman" books from the school library. As we journey through the school year, I look forward to seeing them improve in their growth mindset, and achieving academic and social emotional goals.

My Project

These products will be used to launch new literacy centers in my classroom and add additional flexible seating. My students have been reading so much to bring their reading level up to grade level. They have made great progress already but they need more resources.

With this project, I will be able to provide students will literacy centers so they can focus on various phonics skills and building reading fluency.

Reading fluency helps students with their reading comprehension. There are many great resources on TpT that I plan on purchasing to give students the practice they need. Students will then be able to use these resources in structured group time and at their leisure when they have free time.
