Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have very big hearts and truly make do with what they have. For some, school is their safe haven from extremely poverty-stricken and violent homes. My students are in a very low-income community. They are kind and loving but may not get all the things they need. I have really gotten to know these students in our building and their families very well. I have already learned that I have children who come from needy families. Some of my children come from split families where they may or may not see one or both parents. I am very lucky to be able to touch these kiddos' lives. They are very creative and love to be able to explore their learning world through my classroom.

Each child in the class has his or her own unique personality that has really brought our community together.

They are very creative and are starting to really enjoy the academic world and are improving everyday.

My Project

We are in desperate need of independent activities for students to do while in centers. It has been researched students do best when they are playing. I want to make them feel as if they are at play but reading at the same time. I have included dough stampers so they can practice their letters and sight words using play-doh. I have included many hands-on activities that have students sorting cvc words.

Literacy centers are a fun way to enhance a child's learning.

Please help my students get updated centers after a long and difficult year where getting access to things was impossible.
