My Students

My students are kind, respectful, fun, and passionate about learning! They love to share ideas with one another and brainstorm solutions to problems. I like to create a classroom environment where my students feel like they have space to share and grow.

They like to have fun and enjoy the incorporation of science, art, movement, and joyful learning into our daily curriculum and routines.

They get so excited when learning about new ideas or making connections across the curriculum. I am so lucky to have such an amazing group of students!

My Project

I am so excited to launch my newest project Literacy Center Materials. I will use the books on CD during literacy centers when my students work in small groups. I also plan to use these books during independent reading time for students who might need additional support in reading. These will serve as a great tool for both literacy interventions and small group time. These books also align with the third grade core and can be used to accompany other stories we are reading to make connections across texts. These books will also provide lots of opportunities for writing and analyzing texts.

The science and social studies books will be a great addition to our classroom library!

These books will align perfectly with our third grade core and can be used in multiple ways. One way will be to introduce a new science or social studies topic. Another way to utilize these texts will be during literacy centers to help build on what we are learning in science and social studies. The Native American books will also help us to explore fiction and non-fiction texts on a deeper level. I can weave these stories into art projects that I like to incorporate into my Native American unit. The science books will go great with our unit on rocks. This will also work well with other texts we read about volcanoes and the earth's layers. I am excited to incorporate these new science books with a rock project I just created this summer. All of these books - both on CD and in paper form - can be used from year to year and are timeless stories of fiction and non-fiction!
