My Project

My students are eager, curious learners who thrive when they have access to meaningful, engaging materials. In our classroom, reading is the gateway to both academic success and personal growth. However, limited access to diverse books and flexible learning tools makes it challenging to create the vibrant literacy environment they deserve. A mobile literacy cart would change that.

A Literacy Cart on the Go will serve as a mobile hub of reading and collaboration.

Stocked with leveled books, graphic novels, nonfiction texts, and literacy games, it will allow me to bring small group reading instruction to any part of the school—whether it’s a quiet hallway corner, a flexible learning space, or even outdoors. This mobility is essential for differentiated instruction, small group rotations, and student choice in reading.

Additionally, the cart will hold essential supplies like sticky notes, discussion cards, response journals, and comprehension tools so students can engage in guided reading, book talks, and comprehension activities on the spot. It empowers students to take ownership of their learning while fostering independence and enthusiasm for reading.
