A typical day in my kindergarten classroom is full of laughter and lots of learning. I have a lot of challenging behaviors in my room so keeping students on task and learning is my biggest challenge. I love seeing how much progress kindergartners make throughout the year.
I have 22 crazy kindergartners.
My school is in the suburbs of St. Louis. My students love to play and are very active. They are a challenge to work with because they are constantly moving and are very excited about learning. They especially love reading nonfiction books and learning about the world and animals but the reading books in our classroom library need to be organized so that students can use them.
My Project
I am asking for two small book racks, 30 literacy book bags. and 18 book boxes. I will use these materials in my room in a variety of ways. One way I will use these literacy bags is by having students have the books that are at their level in their bag to read during the centers and to take home and read with parents. The racks will be used for storage in the classroom. We will use the book boxes to store the many books that we have in our classroom library. They have places on the boxes to label the types of books we have in our library. This will help keep the books organized and clean.
These literacy bags will help my students become better readers.
A lot of my students do not have books at home that are a low enough level that they can read it. This way I can send home books that the students can read and make sure they make their way back home safely. Right now we are using gallon sized zip lock bags for our books and they fall apart easily. These bags are more durable and will last longer. Thank you for supporting our classroom.
