My kindergarten students have the opportunity to do "centers" around three times a week in math, literacy, and writing. This is a time for them to choose a game or activity to do that reflects and reinforces the skills that we are learning as a whole group in each subject area. During centers, they have the opportunity to play games to enrich their learning, explore the material through hands-on activities, and collaborate and work together with classmates in a student-centered environment.
These math and Spanish literacy games and activities will be vital additions to our kindergarten students' learning during center time.
They will allow them to grow in the areas of math, literacy, and writing through engaging and fun activities! Students choose which activity they would like to do during center time, giving them autonomy and power in their learning. Having these additional centers would give them so many more choices to choose from. My students are so eager to learn and try new things, so I know that they will be so excited to play these new games and activities with each other!
