What a blast! We had a great morning making banana almond milk. \r\n\r\nIt took a couple of tweaks to the recipe to get it right, but we finally did. It's kind of incredible that a banana, almonds and some water can turn into a delicious drink. It took the addition of vanilla extract and some brown sugar to get it to the point that they rated it a ten out of ten but we did. \r\n\r\nI'm not going to lie, it was a ton of work in order to make enough for everyone, but it was worth it. This is one of the few cooking projects that the majority of the kids loved.. They were excited to each have an active role in the cooking process, and it helped build both their confidence and cooperation skills.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were absolutely thrilled. The first thing many of them wanted to make was smoothies, and their excitement made the learning experience even more meaningful and memorable. Seeing their enthusiasm for trying healthy foods was wonderful.\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue using these resources to make healthy treats and meals while learning more about nutrition and healthy eating habits. The students are becoming more comfortable in the kitchen, exploring new foods, and developing important life skills through these hands-on experiences.
