Literacy and Language Lounge

My students need two bungee chairs, two bean bag chairs and 30 books to give a great start to our literacy and language lounge.

My Students

Our classroom typically has many different types of students ranging in age from three years of age to fifth grade. They receive speech-language services as well as support from the special education teacher. All of these students require extra support and/or direct instruction to make gains.

Our students come from all different types of homes.

School is a great place to provide what each student needs individually. That is the main part of our job---to help ensure each student gets what he or she needs to achieve their individual goals/objectives.

My Project

We are requesting two bungee chairs and two bean bag chairs along with thirty early literacy books. Many of our students also have sensory needs so these types of chairs will fit perfectly into their plans. This project will allow us to create a literacy & language lounge for our students. We want to create a relaxing atmosphere where our students can lay back and read. Encouraging reading is a big part of our day. When reading doesn't come easily, it usually isn't too fun for kiddos so we are wanting to put this project together to help our kids have an enticing safe place to practice their literacy skills.

This project will make a huge difference for our classroom.

Our students need a special retreat away from their regular classrooms to feel comfortable to learn how to read. Creating this language and literacy lounge will help to do this. Our classroom is in desperate need of early literacy books and the comfy seats to get this project started! Please help us!
