Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Promoting literacy is one of my main goals as a teacher. Students love new books that spark their interests. This leads them to new stories that may include characters who are like them, but they also include characters who are different from them. Students learn important life lessons by reading books. They develop empathy and compassion as they journey through fiction and non-fiction texts. It is my job to nurture that inquisitive mind.
After teaching third grade for almost fourteen years, I have amassed a library for my readers.
Many of these books were donated by retired teachers, or donated by former students. Yet, I am moving to teach fifth grade, and I am in need to books for my incoming class. Please help to give the gift of reading to my students.
