I'm biased, but I know the best place to be in the entire school building is the library. As a rural high school librarian, I want my students to view the school library as a place that provides books for pleasure and informational reading, homework and research help, technology tips, as well as a place to explore new hobbies.
More than a year ago, I began offering my rural HS students a monthly subscription box (LitCrate) that includes a library book (chosen specifically for them based on the genre they prefer), a stress buster activity (examples include playing cards and coloring books), a gluten-free snack (examples include beef jerky and pretzels), and other surprises (examples include bookmarks and fidgets).
In one of my LitCrate boxes during the 24-25 school year, I would like to provide a magnetic poetry set. Each set has 72 words that can be rearranged over and over. The tin they come in can be used for showcasing the creative work, as well as storing the words not being currently used.
In addition to the magnetic poetry sets, I am also requesting enough inspirational bookmarks to fill all LitCrate boxes during the 24-25 school year. In a previous project, I fully funded the supplies needed to make paracord bracelets as one of the LitCrate stress buster activities. However, I advertently forgot the buckles; this project also includes those.
