LitCrate Subscription Box: Lego Tiny Builds

Help me give my students a monthly library subscription box that includes the opportunity to build tiny representations of tropical, carnivorous, or arid plants with legos.

My Project

I'm biased, but I know the best place to be in the entire school building is the library. As a rural high school librarian, I want my students to view the school library as a place that provides books for pleasure and informational reading, homework and research help, technology tips, as well as a place to explore new hobbies.

I offer my rural HS students a monthly subscription box (LitCrate) that includes a library book (chosen specifically for them based on their reading preferences), a stress buster activity (examples include STEM challenges or art/craft activities), and other surprises (examples include bookmarks and fidgets).

Throughout the 2025-2026 school year, I would like to include some more activities that help my high school students destress and improve their mental health. Building with Legos is a fun and relaxing thing to do for all ages.

The Lego sets that I am requesting will tie to our plant science class in the agriculture department. Those that request a LitCrate will be given the Lego bricks and building instructions to put together three tropical, carnivorous, or arid plants.

The only rule I have for those receiving a LitCrate is that the book previously received in a LitCrate needs to be returned prior to receiving the next box. Everything else in the box is theirs to keep.
