Help me give my students headphones that will last more than a few weeks and a safe place to store them. Every year we have headphones on our supply list, and every year by October most are dead.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Orman's classroom raised $452

My Students
I am a fifth-grade teacher in a low socioeconomic community, in a classroom with diverse students. We have students who are trying to learn English, how to better control their emotional responses, or simply struggling to focus on the task at hand. My students come to school every day with a lot on their minds from home.
I make it my personal job to create an environment that makes it easier to guide their thoughts to only what is going on in our classroom.
Often times my students need to take unplanned breaks mid-day, or move or stand while they are completing an assignment. They need ways to wiggle and work through their distractions without creating a disruption. My goal is to supply my students with readily available resources in the room in order for them to focus and learn to the best of their ability.
I plan to make my classroom a welcoming, comfortable, and efficient environment for learning for each and every student that enters.
My Project
Though students have headphones on their supply list, they often have to purchase the cheapest earbud options. These headphones break break within the first few weeks, then we are left with a classroom where multiple people are trying to listen to their various texts with sound.
My students will use headphones to help make grade-level content accessible to all.
Our school has a one-to-one Chromebook ratio for our students and we use the Chromebook as a large aid in our learning. Many of my students are below reading level, so the main way I use our Chromebooks is to have information read to them so they can access grade-level content independently.
Headphones will be stored safely in the hanging storage and students will be assigned a headphone. They will only be allowed to use these headphones when the lesson requires Chromebook sound to help protect them and keep them from breaking.
