This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher, I am trying to fill as many educational gaps as possible during this time. However, my number one priority right now is their emotional well-being.
In my classroom, students are constantly using electronic devices to learn in our STEM program.
They constantly use iPads to produce wonderful video productions. While some students are fortunate to have their own headphones, that is not the case for all of my students. They will have an opportunity to research the Lunar New Year without a distraction.
It is a distraction for the entire class when a student does not have headphones. We get lots of use out of our headphones, so a new set of sturdy earbuds would benefit my classes for years to come. Students use headphones in order to block out distracting sounds so that they can concentrate on their lesson. When students are able to concentrate with the help of headphones, they are highly likely to succeed.
Our STEM program truly benefits our students; however, not having all the tools to produce great projects slows down education.
