My Students

My students are eager and willing to learn! They are happy, motivated, and love books! They love to be read to and are working so hard to learn to read themselves. They enjoy the stories and information they learn from books. In fact, one of their current favorite books is about spiders. They love to share the new information they learn with all their friends! You couldn't stop them from trying to read if you tried! One thing they need, is more resources to support them in this grand adventure of learning to read.

I want them to have every opportunity to be successful throughout their lives and learning to read will help them access those opportunities!

My Project

This listening center will encourage and empower my students to strengthen their reading skills. Through listening and following along with books, students will have greater access to texts they are interested in.

When students have access to texts they want to read, they are more motivated and empowered to learn to read.

Their desire to read grows rapidly because of their desire to learn about things they find interesting.

Students also strengthen their fluency in reading by listening to others read. These books will aid them in fluency because they will have great models of what fluent reading sounds like.
