Listening to Audiobooks is a Great Way to Comprehend Reading
My students need headphones to listen to audiobooks. These students have trouble reading for extended periods of time. Being able to listen to others read will help students sustain their reading for longer.

My Students
Students at my school are amazing but need extra help with reading skills. These freshman are 13-15 years old and are a little behind where they need to be when it comes to reading comprehension. They love to learn and read but sometimes it is hard to find things that all of the students can understand.
Some of the students do not come from the best areas and therefore have not had the chance to read a lot at home.
I want to make reading something that is more fulfilling for the students.
My Project
Students in my class are challenged to read a lot. Sometimes, students have a hard time keeping that momentum up for an extended period of time. Being able to listen to the audiobook will help students focus longer. We can also attach questions to audiobook so students can think while they are reading.
Headphones will helps students to independently listen to a book.
All students do not own their own pair of headphones. Being able to provide headphones for those in need will ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to listen to select audiobooks. Listening to audiobooks can also increase the students vocabulary and comprehension of a book.
