This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a high poverty school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My students are thoughtful and enthusiastic learners.

They come to class each day eager to see their school family and tackle academic challenges. I am constantly amazed by their ingenuity and desire to be better than they were yesterday.

In my classroom, we focus on becoming learners, not just learning material. Hopefully, the skills they acquire are ones that will benefit them throughout their academic journey.

My Project

My students ADORE audio books. I have a collection of audio book discs, but no way to listen to them. In a "normal" school year, I play them on my computer and we listen to them a little bit each day as a class. This is NOT a normal school year. Our schedules have to accommodate remote and face to face learners. As a result, there is not class time to listen to audio books whole group.

I hate the thought of my students missing out on this activity simply because of "2020".

With a cd player, splitter, and headphones, my students will get to explore a book with classmates while I work with remote students.
