Listening Our Way to Becoming Successful Readers

Help me give my students personal CD players and audio books to create a listening center in my preschool classroom.

My Project

I would like to help my students develop a love of reading and build skills that will allow them to be successful readers. These portable CD-players and Books on CD will allow me to add a listening center to my classroom library.

Listening centers can help preschoolers build language awareness and develop reading comprehension skills, such as summarizing stories and identifying main ideas.

Using personal CD players will allow students to choose which book they would like to listen to, giving them a sense of independence while also keeping them engaged.
