This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds. About 90% of the students at my school receive free school lunches. In my classroom alone, 80% of my students are English Language Learners. Students in my class are limited to resources at home, with most coming from families who work in the fields. However, they come to school every day, work hard, and are eager to learn new things.

Despite the challenges my students face in and out of the classroom, they aspire to succeed.

My goal is to create meaningful learning experiences for my students. It is my mission to provide them with the tools and support they need to be successful.

My Project

I am in a new classroom this year with 25 eager, fun loving kinders! Coming into a new classroom, I am finding my students are needing resources to support their learning. For many of my students, this is their first classroom experience ever! It is amazing to see their eyes light up as we read new stories. It would be amazing to have an easel where our big books could be placed for all students to see as we read and learn. To further support my students as they learn to read and comprehend, A listening center is essential for our literacy centers. My students need a listening center with four headphones in order to help spark an interest in reading, boost their listening skills, and build comprehension. Thank you for helping our future leaders become engaged in reading and listening . These skills are so essential and will be needed always !
