My Students

I have an energetic bunch of 20 first grade students that come to school each day bursting with excitement and enthusiasm for learning. My first graders enthusiastically jump into all learning experiences with both feet! They work at a rapid pace because they do not want to miss a thing.

My students' enthusiasm for learning and life itself is contagious and teaching them is an exhilarating and joyful experience.

No two days are ever the same with unexpected surprises each and every day.

My Project

When students have reading skills that are below grade level, they lose ground more rapidly. As they move up in school, reading becomes all about learning new information and content. Students in grades K-2 learn to read, while students in grades 3 - 5 read to learn.

Being able to provide a listening center for my students to access human-read audiobooks through a well organized Anyplace, Anytime Mobile Listening Center will support developing reading skill in my first graders.

Students will be able to listen to audiobooks though volume adjustable headphones and Classroom CD/Cassette Player.

Audiobooks allow students to hear explicit sounds of letters and letter patterns that form words. Audiobooks also help students engage in text and gain exposure to more words, ultimately improving vocabulary, comprehension and critical thinking skills.
