My Students
I teach in a dual immersion classroom, where 56 students are eager to learn and be a part of their community. Each child spends half their day with me, learning how to read and write. The other half of their day is spent being immersed in the Spanish language.
My first graders are voracious learners!
They come from a variety of backgrounds, each having different life experiences, but have so much to offer and teach one another! It is amazing to see their growth and excitement for learning.
My Project
My students are in dire need of a listening station for use during our reading practice stations. I have struggling readers that get frustrated and are just learning to read. I also have students that excel in reading, but read words too fast to comprehend. Through the use of a listening station, my students will be able to hear perfect readers that present fluent reading at an understandable and comprehensible rate.
I am requesting books and CDs to give my students the opportunity of hearing great readers.
I am also requesting a cassette/CD player so that students will be able to utilize the books and CDs. My students would benefit greatly from this donation and it would be used daily to enhance the learning of many children!
