I teach kindergarten in a Title I school. Spanish is the language spoken in the home for about 30% of my students. For other students, reading at home with a parent or older sibling is not a priority.

We spend about 30 minutes a day at literacy work stations. We have been able to acquire individual Cd players, but need a larger selection of read-along Cd's and books. We need literature selections and informational books.

Having additional read-along Cd's and books will allow me to expose my students to more kinds of literature, to enhance vocabulary, to promote print awareness, and to maintain interest.

Your generous contribution will help my students acquire literacy skills as well as support "reading for fun" and "reading for information" during the school day.
