This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My second grade students are a bright and vibrant bunch. I work at a public school in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. Our school serves students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. The students at our school have a 99% rate of qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. My students face a variety of personal challenges but have the opportunity to pave their own pathways through the avenue of their education. They are very loving and are extremely excited about school and learning. Help me plant seeds to inspire their excitement and passion for learning.

My Project

My students need quality headphones for which they will each be assigned and in charge of proper maintenance of. This will help minimize classroom distractions while students are using technology during instruction. It will enable students to focus and listen to stories at many different literacy stations in which they complete in class. My students become frustrated with easily breakable headphones, however these headphones are quality and will last well beyond this school year. These headphones will maximize student learning for the entire classroom and also help teach students responsibility and care. Please consider donating to make this vision possible!
