My Project
The last half of this year we have been focusing most of our time on small group instruction. During this time I have set up a listening center for the students. As of right now they are having to use their computers to watch a video in order to be read to during these listening centers. For the rest of this year and next year I would for students to be able to not only see the book but just hear it through their headphones. This way the students can focus more on the words being read aloud to them instead of having the video in front of them to be a distraction.
Listening centers help students learn to track print and improve their vocabulary.
We do read alouds everyday in class but the students rarely get to track the print on their own. The listening centers help them not only learn how to track print but it also introduces them to new words.
