My Students

I teach a group of highly motivated First Graders. My students are special to me because they inspire me to work harder every day. They’re creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! My students come to school each day ready to push themselves out of their comfort zone, to grow personally and academically! They strive to help their peers and want everyone to succeed. I love their outgoing, hardworking personalities and want to see that continue to grow every day!

My Project

With this new listening center students will be able to continue to enhance their reading fluency. My classroom is built on the importance of reading by looking at the pictures, reading the words or retelling the story. I read on the carpet to them, they read to themselves or to one another.

My students love listening to stories and reading along with them, as they do this they are developing fluency and practicing phonics.

Students at multiple reading levels will be able to choose books at fit their level and interest, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.

They will be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and having a digital reading center will continue to build curiosity in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with Independent reading!
