My Students

Teaching our children to read is crucial. Teaching them to use technology is becoming just as important. Help us target both of this vital areas of education by donating to our project to provide our class with a listening center!

My kindergarten students attend a small elementary school in the Appalachian mountains.

Our school is part of an arts-integration program that helps us bring the arts into our classroom on a daily basis. In our school, we set high expectations for our students and they rise to the occasion!

My Project

The Listen and Learn Letter Sounds Program that I want for my class will teach them the sounds that letters make and give them practice listening for the sounds at the beginning and ends of words. Learning to the sounds that make up words is a critical part of learning to read and write. The portable listening center that I have selected will engage up to 8 students at a time in working with this program or listening to books on CD to learn vocabulary.

Imagine the fun my kindergarteners will have learning how to read with this new listening center!
