Listening Center to Dive into the Wonderful World of Audiobooks!
My students need a classroom listening center that will allow them to listen to books on tape; creating a fun and engaging way to dive into reading independently!
Welcome to my kindergarten classroom. I am hoping to add more excitement and varied learning opportunities to my daily learning centers.
I have taught kindergarten for 12 years and absolutely love playing such an important role in the strong foundation for learning of so many little lives!
I love creating an environment where students feel safe, loved, and excited to come to school everyday! I will have 22 eager students to inspire to love reading, writing, math, and science this year!
My Project
This is our second year having full-day kindergarten. Last year going from a half day to full day I was amazed by the time I had for enhanced literacy and math centers, however, these enhanced centers require more varied learning materials as well! In all of the years I have taught half day kindergarten I have had boxes with literally hundreds of books on tape, but little time for learning centers.
Last year with finally gaining the time where these wonderful resources could be utilized, I found that I did not have the equipment necessary to run a “books on tape” listening center.
We will need a CD/Tape player, headphones, and a headphone jack in order to enjoy our books on tape! This listening center would allow students to independently engage in reading in a fun and inviting way during small group learning while the teacher is busy working with groups on their individualized learning targets.
