Help me give my students a listening center! The listening center is an essential part of our literacy block because it helps students develop fluency skills and comprehension skills!

My Students

Each day my students come in to school ready to learn and be the best that they can! A good portion of my students receive free and reduced lunch. We strive to keep the classroom positive and a safe environment for the students to come in and feel loved and appreciated.

My students come from a wide range of backgrounds from not speaking any English to being moved around by the military!

Each one of them brings a special and unique trait to our classroom and creates a diverse community!

My Project

The Personal CD players will allow my students to listen to multiple stories during their listening center time easily. The Personal CD players will allow up to 8 students to listen and respond to the book of their choice! Students will be able to select a book, use the CD player, and listen to the story while at the listening center and even while they are at Buddy reading (reading with a partner).

The Personal CD players will allow for an authentic experience at the Listening Center, will open up the possibility of many stories, and increase student engagement, because they can select from a wide variety of books on CD.

The listening center is an essential part of our literacy block because it helps students develop fluency skills and comprehension skills.
