My Students

Our classroom is a very busy one! We have a long school day with our 4-day week, and we love to give scholars the opportunity to move around and change gears throughout the day. We try to incorporate technology at every opportunity.

While they love the usual reading and math work, we are also a Core Knowledge school.

Core Knowledge is so rich with history, science, Language Arts, etc., it creates an even more safe, open-minded and inquiring atmosphere for our children. They love what we are teaching, but it definitely inspires them to ask more questions and research deeper.

My Project

We are requesting a portable stereo system with audiobooks. During our 90 minute Reading/Language Arts block, scholars rotate between centers during this time. Scholars use tablets to read stories and take comprehension quizzes. A separate listening center will help our scholars improve their literacy skills by following along to a story being read to them.

If we receive these donations, Scholars will be able to visit the listening center daily during our Reading/Daily 5 time to improve literacy.

We need hands-on materials in a format that appeals to their senses and fosters a meaningful learning environment for all scholars.
