Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a title I school on the outskirts of town. This school has amazing families and students; however, financially, many of them struggle. My students are hard working and excited to learn. This year, more than half of my students are English language learners. This can create some challenges in learning, but they are persevering and working hard to learn more and more each day. They love to read and are excited when new books are introduced. My students are respectful and responsible. They are awesome!

My Project

The portable cd player and headphones will be used by the students to listen to books on tape. These materials will be put into individual listening center boxes for students to access during center and reading time. These listening center kits will help students to strengthen their listening and comprehension skills. It will also help my English Language learners to better learn the language by hearing stories until they are ready to read on their own. My students love to read and hear stories. These materials will make the joy of reading more accessible to all of my wonderful students.
