5th grade is such an exciting time during child development. Students are starting to discover their own independence, voice, and opinions of the world through a deeper level of thinking. They are learning to connect things through mathematics, science, writing, and what they read by seeing it through their own lives.
In this class, we work together as a team.
We win and we lose together. Each individual student plays a role in what happens day to day. They are each a member of the team and no one gets to sit out. Each student is required to engage and help each other grow and learn as a whole unit. When someone is struggling they work together to help one another problem solve and learn through mistakes. We believe that through mistakes the most growth can happen. Our motto is "Winners never quit and quitters never win."
My Project
The digital world has become an integral part of education, especially while coping with the impacts of Covid-19. I am asking for materials and supplies that will further my 5th grade students education by allowing them to use technology with ease during these precedented times. The headphones with microphones will be used to block out distractions while hearing instructions that are given digitally. They will also be used during at home learning when it applies. The microphones will be used by students who have difficulty typing essays. The microphones will also assist students who have learning disabilities and require occupational therapy. The bags will house the headsets and keep them from getting damaged. The stand will be used to hang the bags on, in order for students to find and locate their headsets with ease.
The donations to this project will help my students' with navigating technology through individualized audio and speaking devices; while also eliminating distractions from their peers at school and during remote learning.
I am hoping that my students' are more engaged and able to utilize technology with greater success (especially with remote learning) using these headsets with microphones. Thank you!
