This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from a variety of cultures, low-income families, and hard-working middle-class families, which therefore results in plenty of hardships for them daily. This being said though, they are incredibly resilient. They are dedicated students with wonderful attitudes, despite their disadvantages. The struggles they overcome are more than many adults can handle, but they do so with a smile on their faces. This project would give them each a pair of headphones. Several of them either are not able to bring a pair from home, or they are broken. In fulfilling this project each of them would be able to have a pair that would stay in the classroom.
In class, my students will use the new headphones for working on individual lessons in programs such as Lexia.
This program helps build reading skills. They will also use them for listening to audiobooks and podcasts, as well as preparing and being ready for state testing. The headphones will enable them to listen to things without being distracted by outside noise. They will use the wipes to keep them clean and germ-free.
