My Students
My students come from all over the world. Our classroom is very diverse, and five out of my nineteen students speak more than one language fluently. My students are inspiring, curious, spontaneous, talented, hilarious, appreciative, and creative.
Art helps my students connect with each other when they are not able to communicate with language.
A smile is universal, and when my children are able to present one of their artistic creations to the class with pride, their confidence grows and they begin to flourish. Our classroom needs consumable art supplies for the children to create and explore.
My Project
Each year, I end up needing headphones in our classroom for the students to be able to use our iPads and computers. I would like to invest in some headphones that will last for years to come, instead of just having ones that barely make it through the school year. My students use computers and iPads to enhance all of their learning, but we mainly use sites and apps that are geared toward math, reading, and science. Without headphones, the children can not take full advantage of the opportunities that are available through technology, because the sounds cause to much of a distraction for the rest of the classroom.
