I have had many classrooms full of eager readers! They all loved to listen and follow along to books in our Listening Center. Sadly, our tapes have been loved so much, they are wearing out. I am ready to jump into the 21st century, and begin using CD's and players in the listening center.
I have an active class of adorable first graders.
They love to read and listen to books. This helps them to attain fluency in reading. It is also very beneficial to my many English Language Learners, who can improve their language comprehension through fabulous read-alongs.
My Project
During our literacy time, it is important to keep my little firsties actively learning when they are not in a teacher directed reading group. Listening to books is a fun way to improve their reading fluency, listening and vocabulary skills, and help students to work independently. They love to share books with friends, and will be exposed to great stories.
With your generous help, my students will have ample opportunity to listen and learn, while working independently.
