My Students

My students come to me from different backgrounds with different ability levels. They are soccer players, gymnasts, pianists, artists, avid readers, gamers, softball players, horseback riders, and dog lovers etc. They all enjoy a feeling of confidence in their chosen interests and hobbies outside of school. They all have the ability to gain that same confidence here at school, too.

They like their peers and have built a good rapport with each other.

They are advocates for each other and want fairness. They are reasonable if approached with a good argument. They can tests the limits, too and need high expectations in the classroom. They appreciate and want recognition for a job well done and they keep me on my toes!

My Project

Students are using more and more technology in the classroom. This technology includes Google Classroom, Lexia Core 5, Think Central, Mastery Connect, Prodigy and more.

All of these programs help students learn in all academic areas, including literacy and language, math and science.

Prodigy gives them math practice in a fun game-like setting. Lexia Core 5 helps them fill in gaps in their language arts learning. Mastery Connect allows them to take math and language arts assessments online, which offers immediate feedback. All this technology allows students to learn more in the classroom and at home and it saves paper.

The Cyber Acoustic headphones I ordered will allow students to better access this technology. Each child has a Chromebook, but new headphones are needed.
