My students need headphones for our classroom. Each student works in our computer lab on various resources our district provides. They can read and listen to books and complete math activities.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from mostly low-income families. My students love coming to school to learn! Each morning students enjoy breakfast and then proceed to the carpet area for morning meeting. Students LOVE morning meeting. It is a chance for them to feel special because they are greeted by their classmates and can share something about themselves.

It is important that my students have an area to begin each day successfully.

This designated area is useful, but I think students would enjoy coming to our morning carpet time more if they had a specific place to sit on our classroom rug.

My Project

Our students use various online resources to give additional support in reading and math. We also recently began implementing Google Classroom with many different assignments.

My students LOVE to listen to stories using one of our resources that has a comprehension check at the end.

However, we do not have enough headphones for each student.

I would love to be able to have all students working with these resources using their own headphones. This also helps other students stay focused on their assignments. With headphones, all students can be working without distractions whether they are on the computers or not.
