This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach a group of special needs kids, ages 10-15, in a high poverty area of South Carolina.
My students love to read independently. The problem is that they can not enjoy reading because they struggle with decoding words. By the time that they figure out a word, they have lost the meaning of the story. Some students in my class may never be able to read due to their disabilities.
With the Tag Reader supplies, these wonderful children will be able to "read" stories for themselves. As a result, they will be able to enjoy books independently.
Your help will allow my students the independence that they desire. They will be able to develop and explore their love for books. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
