My students love to create music! One way this is done is through virtual sound composition. When my students use online platforms to design their musical works, they need headphones so they can hear what they are creating and not disturb others in class--and so others do not disturb them. This is why I am requesting a classroom set of headphones for my middle school students.
Music gives a voice to those who are unheard.
My students use music as a way of coping by listening to their favorite songs, or by designing music of their own. When assigned composition projects, my students will be able to assess their projects better when they can hear what they are working on. I am lucky enough to have classrooms filled with passionate students, however, it is difficult for them to have a quiet space to work. This is why headphones are essential for the success of my students.
